This raw cacao paste Ecuador is made from 100% raw Arriba “Nacional” cacao beans. This special cacao variety is known for its full flavor, rich aroma, and smooth texture. The cacao is grown in permaculture systems, among tropical fruit trees such as orange, avocado, and mango. This cacao paste is made from native Arriba “Nacional” beans from Ecuador and has a pure, intense cacao flavor. Thanks to the careful cold processing, the natural properties of the cacao are preserved as much as possible. You can crumble the cacao paste and use it directly, add it to food, or let it melt slowly. Preferably melt the cacao au bain-marie or at a very low temperature in a pan. This prevents the cacao from burning.
For a hot cacao drink, heat water or plant-based milk in a pan. Add 15 to 20 g of cacao paste and stir until it is completely dissolved. You can add natural sweeteners or spices to taste, such as honey, maple syrup, chili, cinnamon, or vanilla.
