Real Mad Honey Turkey is a unique honey originating from the Black Sea region of Turkey. The honey is produced from the nectar of, among others, Rhododendron ponticum and Rhododendron luteum. These plants can naturally contain grayanotoxins, which makes Mad Honey distinctly different from regular honey.

Turkish Mad Honey is also known as Delibal and has a long tradition in regions such as Rize and Trabzon. Local beekeepers collect the honey in areas where various species of rhododendrons grow. Compared to some Nepalese Mad Honey variants, the Turkish version generally has a lighter color.
